Hi all,

I have been repeatedly trying in vane to make an ODBC connection for
more than 2 hours now and MySQL is displaying this weird error:

[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Access denied for user
'user01sys' [at] 'localhost' (using password: YES)

Do you folks have an idea as to what is actually going on? I have
given ALL the privileges to user01sys - but no luck so far.

Any help would be appreciated.

The first thing that I would suggest, based on personnal experience is =
to
make sure what host are listed in the User table for "user01sys". The =
one of
first times I had installed MySQL and tried to setup an ODBC connection =
I was
getting this error message and when I looked at the user table the user =
name
I was using to setup the ODBC connection did not have localhost listed =
when I
added that I was able to connect from the localhost.

Now when ever I create a user that is application specific I create =
records
for the user to log in from "localhost" and from "%". But that is just a
preference I have learned to use.
